The leather comes in seven colours: Black (BK), Dark Brown (DB), Natural (NT), Turquoise (TQ), Royal Blue (RY), Red (RD) and Pink (PK).

The slider beads and charms are available only in silver tone.

Choose from three charms: Celtic Heart(CH), Celtic Knot (CK) or the Moon/Star (MS). Others are often available; email or call us with your request.

The charms are all interchangeable - hang your own charms on your wrap; old drop earrings, Christmas decorations, or whatever you want. Wear it wrapped around your pony tail for an instant braided look, or try a French braided look without all the work. You can even wear it around your neck as a bolo (western string tie). Have fun and experiment with your Hair Wrap - create your own look!
For a plain braided look, start with a pony tail. Then slide all of the beads down to the bottom of the Hair Wrap and put the pony tail through the loop. Hold the ends of the Hair Wrap high and slide a bead down against the hair. Bring the Hair Wrap down underneath your pony tail and slide the next bead up against the hair. Continue alternating, front and back, until all of the beads have been used. For variety, take your beaded pony tail and wrap it into a bun - a couple of hair pins and voila - instant elegance. (We used a medium hair wrap in this photo.)

For a French braided look, start by sliding all of the beads down to the bottom, only this time wrap the starting loop around a mini pony tail near the crown of your head. Hold the Hair Wrap at right angles to your head and slide the first bead snugly against your hair. Bring the Hair Wrap to the opposite side of your head, add more hair to the wrap and slide the next bead snugly up to the hair. Alternate left and right until you're finished. Centre the last bead. (We used a medium hair wrap in this photo too.)

For a simplified French braided look, start by gathering the top layer of hair into a pony tail. We usually start just above the ears. Slip the hair through he loop of the wrap with the ends up, and slide the first bead against the hair. Now section off half of the remaining hair; bring the leather under this section, twist the leather underneath, bring it to the top and slide 2 beads into place. Finally, add the remaining hair, do another twist, go back to the outside and secure it with the next 2 beads. Now, depending on the length of your Hair Wrap, you may be finished. If not, continue wrapping the hair in the basic look, or be creative and try something different. (In this photo we used a short hair wrap.) hair wrap handcrafted by Ear Curls, etc.

Hair Wrapping Tips

To determine the length you need, consider the following: The 'Tweenie' is for hair just long enough to make into a ponytail. It's also fun for wrapping smaller sections of hair. For shoulder length hair (approximately 4 inches from the nape) select 'Short'. If your hair comes to about your shoulder blades (up to 8 inches from the nape) choose 'Medium'. For mid-back length (up to 12 inches long), 'Long' will be best for you. For very long hair (about 16 inches), choose 'X-Long'.

Having said all that, you may need a longer wrap if your hair is very thick, or a shorter wrap is you have thinner hair. Also, the French Braid look requires a longer wrap than the plain braid.

You will probably find it easier, at least the first few times, to secure your ponytail with an elastic prior to using your Hair Wrap.

If, after wrapping, you find the wrap doesnít quite fit, here are a couple of things to try. If the wrap is too long (beads & leather 'left over'), position the wraps closer together; conversely, if it seems too short, make the wraps further apart.

If the leather is longer than you need (which is more likely to happen with finer hair), try wrapping the top of the braid once or twice with leather before sliding the first bead in place. Or use the beads on the outside of the braid and simply twist the leather on the under-side.

If you have too many beads (more likely if you have thick hair), you can slide 2 beads at a time, either on the front or the back of the braid. Or you can remove the extra beads by sliding them off the end of the wrap (don't do this until you have tried it out a few times - you may not be able toget them back on).

Experiment a bit, and have fun. We would love to see pictures of the looks you create!
